Who we are and how to contact us
Synergy Trading is a stock and options alerts service based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through synergytrading.net, our Stripe checkout, our members Telegram channel and our email, and what we do with it.
For any privacy question or request, email us at info@synergytrading.net.
The paths /admin, /api/admin, /api/customer and
/uploads on this domain belong to a separate service, Smartec Vending, which has its
own privacy policy at https://smartecvending.com/privacy.
What we collect and why
- Subscription details from Stripe (your email address and subscription identifiers), so we can give you access to the alerts you signed up for and remove access when a subscription ends.
- Telegram account details (user ID, username and name) when you join the members channel or message our members bot, so we can link your Telegram account to your membership.
- Email you send us or that we send you, such as your members invite.
- Page engagement data from our own analytics beacon, which does not identify you, so we can see which pages are useful.
- Server logs that our web server records for every request, used to run and secure the site.
Accounts and payments
Subscribers do not create an account on this website. There is no subscriber sign-up form or login on synergytrading.net.
Subscriptions and free trials are taken through Stripe Payment Links, on pages hosted by Stripe. Stripe collects the information its checkout asks for. We choose those checkout fields in our Stripe settings, and Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy.
When a checkout completes, or a subscription changes or is cancelled, Stripe sends us a notification. From it we store:
- your email address
- your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID
- your subscription status (for example active, trialing, past due or cancelled) and whether it is a paid plan or a free trial
- the dates the record was created and last updated
- the Telegram invite link issued to you (see Alert delivery)
- the ID and type of each Stripe notification, so the same event is not processed twice
The information we keep from Stripe is limited to the items above; we do not store payment card details.
When someone subscribes, cancels, or a payment becomes past due or unpaid, we send a notification to a private Telegram chat used by our team. It contains the subscriber's email address and subscription ID, and on cancellation it can also include the Telegram name and username we have on file.
Alert delivery
Members receive alerts in a private Telegram channel. When you subscribe, our members bot creates a single-use invite link that expires after 7 days. The link is labelled with your email address so we can match it to your subscription. We email the link to you.
When you join the channel with that link, Telegram tells us your Telegram user ID, username and first and last name, and we save them to your subscription record. We use them to identify you in the channel and to remove you from it automatically if your subscription is cancelled.
If you send a direct message to our members bot, we record your Telegram user ID, username, name and the first 200 characters of your message. This lets us link your Telegram account to your membership when it could not be matched at join time. Your use of Telegram itself is covered by Telegram's privacy policy.
Invite emails are sent through Resend, a transactional email provider, from info@synergytrading.net. Our info@synergytrading.net mailbox is hosted by Titan, so emails you send us are stored there.
Analytics
Our home page, performance page, checkout success page and this page load a small engagement beacon, Klimb, from autana.ca, which is our own analytics service. When you hide or close the tab, it sends the page path (never the query string), how far you scrolled, how long the page was visible, whether you arrived from a Google results page, and whether you left quickly. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and uses a random ID that is new for each page view. We do not store your IP address or browser user agent with this data, and we keep raw page views for 90 days. The beacon does nothing at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
The home page and performance page load the Chart.js charting library from jsDelivr, a public content delivery network. Your browser requests the file directly from jsDelivr, which receives your IP address and browser details with that request, as any web server does.
Like most websites, our web server (nginx) keeps access logs of each request, including IP address, browser user agent, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These logs are rotated daily and kept for about 14 days.
Service providers
We use these providers to run the service:
- Stripe: checkout, payments and subscription management.
- Telegram: the members alerts channel, the members bot and our internal team notifications.
- Resend: sending invite emails.
- Titan: hosting the info@synergytrading.net mailbox.
- Google: staff-only sign-in to internal tools.
- jsDelivr: delivering the Chart.js library.
- Cloudflare: DNS for our domain. Website traffic does not pass through Cloudflare.
Some of these providers are based outside Canada, so your information may be stored or processed in other countries.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for. The exceptions are web server logs, which are kept for about 14 days, and raw Klimb page views, which are kept for 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
- You can withdraw your consent, for example by cancelling your subscription, which also ends your access to the members channel.
- You can ask us to delete your personal information.
- You can turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser to stop our analytics beacon.
To make any of these requests, email info@synergytrading.net.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
